Neethaane En Ponvasantham coined Vidya as Jeny a friend of Samantha and lover of santhanam. while starting her career, she took her opportunity first in kollywood and also made her role in Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu at same track, Vidyu has since played main roles in Sundar C's Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru in Malini 22 Palayamkottai and the Telugu film Ramayya Vasthavayya. And minor roles in both 2014 Pongal releases Jilla and Veeram. She is doing a role in Suriya "Masss 2015" directed by Venkat Prabhu.

Raman, was the former Advocate General of Tamil Nadu; while her cousin Gitanjali is married to leading.Tamil film maker Director Selvaraghavan.Vidyu in an interview said that her role model "Aachi" Manorama (Tamil actress)and main inspiration from her career.
